Principal

East HS welcomes Kelly Flohaug as it's new Principal in 2023. A Grand Rapids native and UMD graduate, returning to Duluth is very much a homecoming for Flohaug.

"I'm very honored to be given the privilege of joining the East faculty as Principal. The history, traditions, and commitment to student excellence here has been well established for decades. East is a special place and I look forward to building relationships here with students, staff, and community members."

Prior to his move to East, Flohaug was an Assistant Principal at Centennial HS for 9 years and a Social Studies teacher for 11 years, also at Centennial.

"My hope is to bring the best parts of my experiences to East and use them to enhance student successes and connections here. The faculty and students have been wonderful to work with and I feel we are going to make a great team moving forward. I'm proud to be a Greyhound."
